What exactly is Uni-Boxes?
Uni-Boxes is a full-service door-to-door storage solution specifically designed for university students. We provide packing materials, pick up your items from your dorm or apartment, store them in a secure facility, and deliver them back when you return
to campus.
Which campuses do you serve?
We currently operate at over 50 major campuses across the United States, including Stanford, Harvard, MIT, NYU, and UCLA. You can check the full list of supported locations on our Locations page.
How do I track my boxes?
Each box comes with a unique QR code. After you pack your items, you can scan the box in the Uni‑Box system to record what you placed inside for your own reference. This list is for your convenience only and is not verified or guaranteed by Uni‑Box Storage.
You can also view the box’s status from pickup to storage and delivery.
Pricing & Items
How much does it cost?
We offer a simple flat‑rate price of $299 per student for the entire summer. This includes pickup, storage, and delivery back to campus, plus up to five total containers: four medium Uni‑Box Storage boxes or a suitcase, and one large box. You also get
one small appliance included. Optional add‑ons—like extra boxes, oversized items, or off‑campus pickup—are available for a small additional fee so you only pay for what you need.
Can I store my own boxes?
While we recommend using our heavy-duty Uni-Boxes for maximum safety and stackability, you can use your own boxes. They must be sturdy and meet our size requirements to ensure safe transport.
Is insurance included?
Yes. Every Uni‑Box Storage customer account is automatically covered for up to $100 of basic protection. This coverage applies to the account as a whole, not to each individual box. Additional insurance for high‑value items can be purchased before your
pickup date.
Logistics
When do you pick up?
During finals week and the move‑out season, we offer daily pickup windows across campus. You can view the pickup windows available for your specific location and schedule your time slot in the Uni‑Box system at least 48 hours in advance.
How long are my items stored?
Your items are stored for the entire summer storage term, which typically covers up to four months. Storage begins once we pick up your items and continues until you schedule your fall delivery. You can view your storage status at any time through your
Uni‑Boxes Storage account.
What happens if I don’t schedule my delivery?
If your items are not scheduled for delivery by the end of the storage term, we’ll reach out with reminders. Items that remain unclaimed or unpaid for more than 14 days past the storage period may be considered abandoned and can be donated or disposed
of according to our Terms & Conditions. Scheduling your delivery early ensures a smooth return of your belongings.
Where is the storage facility?
We use secure, climate-controlled, professional warehouses located within 15-30 minutes of each campus we serve. These facilities are gated, monitored 24/7, and not open to the public.
